Human Computer Interaction Essay

The Human Computer Interaction(HCI) is the field of investigation of shared correspondence between the client and the PC. This is the field of cooperation is prepared by utilizing the UI which incorporates the product just as the equipment as well. All the product which are being made are empowered with UI structure and their usage. Today, Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows 98 and so forth are the working frameworks which are empowered with graphical UI. This is additionally the human PC association. The World Wide Web is likewise the case of human PC connection. The field of the human PC connection is all around grew today with the coming of new advancements in programming and equipment both. With the improvement in this the field the new terms like menu, catches, symbols and so on are presented which discuss the utilizations and focal points of human PC communication. (Brad A. Myers March, 1998 pp. 44-54 ) With the improvement in utilization of mobiles the human PC interaction’s are likewise expanded. The new interface configuration like touch-screen structuring of PCs and mobiles additionally has provided another guidance to HCI. The HCI in future has better open doors with the creating programming and equipment. 2) Methodologies and procedures for structuring interfaces: the HCI plan strategies are created from early techniques like rewarded users’ intellectual procedures to the new ones like web planning. The techniques for structuring the HCI consistently searches for association between the client, PC that is the machine and the planners. Client focused plan is likewise the strategy where each perspective like necessities, structure and so forth are remembered for which the consideration is being paid on psychological variables. in this plan forms the clients use through the hyperlink with an extremely rapid. These models as the name indicates depend on the models which depend on human desires. The model can be coordinated by programming and afterward can be actualized and afterward the inputs can be attempted for adjustments. (HUMAN COMPUTER INTERACTION p. 1) Paper prototyping is likewise a technique for planning HCI by creating programming. It is utilized for analyzing and plotting UI. In this technique the drawings of the interfaces are made for plan. Its is a valuable technique as the drawing is quicker than the programming. This technique can be helpful as the people who don't the programming can likewise do this. Website architecture is likewise a technique for planning UI like site pages, sites and so forth. utilizing HTML, JAVA as the product toolboxs for advancement of pages. The website architecture is utilized to made sites as graphical client interface(GUI). The website composition additionally executed to meet the prerequisite of the site engineer just as the end-client. The website composition depends on dialects like JAVA, HTML for security purposes to wipe out the difficult like hacking and so forth. Subjective strategy for HCI structuring is a previous technique yet at the same time its valuable. It depends on examination of two angles subjective trades with PCs like getting the hang of, perusing and other viewpoint is intellectual stuffing, piece and so on. In this procedure the client examination is done right off the bat like prerequisites, assignments and so on. This investigation contains the highlights like memory, discernment, prerequisites and so forth. The following stage is structuring and investigative test. This contain the highlights like language and memory. The last stage is framework trying to test the validation of the framework. (Douglas J. Gillan and Nancy J. Cooke p. 1) 3) Methods for actualizing interfaces: There are numerous strategies for executing the interfaces like programming, research techniques, proficient calculations and so forth. There are numerous product instruments like windowing frameworks, toolboxs, interface developers and so on. These product incorporates the product like JAVA, Macintosh Toolbox, Visual Basic and so on. These product are advantageous as they have application in HCI planning just as in different fields too. The product writing computer programs is anything but difficult to deal with as any individual can pick up information on it. The strategies for actualizing interfaces utilizing the product is likewise gainful as the expense is diminished in structuring and the alterations can be made without any problem. The product utilized has the bit of leeway that if the new form of programming comes in light and the client need the interface dependent on this new form. At that point the interface can be customized in the new programming and interface can be altered. The libraries can likewise be utilized to build up the product. The libraries are utilized to store the information, execute the projects. At that point the projects are actualized which are put away in these libraries. These libraries can be associated with share the substantial heap of information. With the headway of these libraries the information is currently put away in composed and can be partaken in any piece of the world. The calculations are likewise utilized for HCI structuring as these calculations are made for methodical work process. For itemized portrayal of the difficult which must be settled must be concentrated cautiously. This methodology is created by effective utilization of the calculations. 4) Techniques for assessing and looking at interfaces: There are numerous procedures for assessing the interfaces structure and usage. There are numerous standards for assessing like EC orders. There are numerous issues which must be attempted for assessment of interfaces like controllability, information honesty and so forth. These components are chiefly utilized for HCI interfaces assessment as these are fundamental elements for structuring and examination of interfaces. The HCI interfaces which are being created must be easy to use. The strategies which are being utilized today are EVIDAS II, MUSiC, KABA and so on. These are the most recent procedures which are utilized for looking at the interfaces. These strategies are sorted further as client situated like MUSiC and item arranged like EVADIS II(Chris Stary*, Thomas Riesenecker-Caba, J and g Flecker, pp1-2). These strategies embrace different fields like UI, association of work, programming highlights and so on. These strategies are intended to assess the different elements like suitability, the executives of information, disappointment of interface chances and so forth. These methods has built up the odds of progress in programming quality, easy to understand quality, achievement rate, cost viability and so forth. The significant errand is straightforwardness of programming for future adjustment. These HCI interfaces are pertinent to amass work, this factor is additionally tried by these methods. 5) Developing new interfaces and collaboration methods: The new interfaces which are being intended for the future must incorporates numerous highlights like administration and separating of information, input gadgets and sensors, learn capacity, client fulfillment and so forth. The Augmented Reality(AR) plan is a most recent one. This structure is situated from the Virtual Reality(VR) plan. These plan are executed to decrease the psychological overhead. ( Andreas D? nser, Raphael Grasset, Hartmut Seichter, Mark Billinghurst pp1-5) There are numerous standards which are being embraced like affordance, client fulfillment, low physical exertion, learn capacity, adaptability and so forth. There may be a changing from 2D to 3D perception. The HCI might be structured by contact screen application. The models which are being structured must associate as indicated by the requirements, task, objectives of the client. The 2D screen work area might be given another look by 3D see. The HCI might be grown with the end goal that they may be associated with portable and when an email, message and so on. come then the UI join legitimately associate with the processor and the correspondence framework and will advise the client straightforwardly. One strategy might be utilized by utilizing sensors. At the point when the client needs to turn on the PC or need to give any guidance. At that point the sensor which are utilized simply start their working and comply with the request for client. The HCI must react to the user’s guidance rapidly. The issue of moderate reaction must be wiped out so as to make new interface increasingly productive. The blunder must be dispensed with or must be diminished to a zero level. The interface must have the following steadiness. The client focused structure must be improved to AR plans. The client mediation must be considered. 6) Developing distinct and prescient models and speculations of cooperation: The models which are to be created must be founded on the many key components like virtual and expanded reality, substantial UI, emotional figuring, detecting interface eye moved based interface , perceptual interface and so forth. The models are utilized to plan and assess the interface procedure The graphical client interfaces(GUI) are utilized today basically. These interfaces will be displayed by the necessities of the client. The new models will utilized the essential characteristics of the WIMP interface just as they will take a shot at new creative strategies like utilizing sensors, 3D condition. The HCI condition must be made with the end goal that the correspondence procedure must be solid. The figurative frameworks are identified with the illustrative models and the those which are identified with scientific frameworks, are towards the prescient models. The prescient models investigate the interface strategy with whenever utilization. The spellbinding model are not quite the same as the prescient models however are utilized too like the prescient model. These models doesn't give the quantitative quantify however simply give a situation to consider the circumstance of the issue or to portray the issue. These models are utilized for console interfacing, mouse interfacing and so forth. ( I. Scott MacKenzie, pp. 27-54 ) The models which depend on these models are additionally altered by the new hypotheses introduced like the utilization of new techniques like advanced libraries. 7) Conclusion: The human PC collaboration is extremely gainful today just as scarcely any decades back when WIMP interfaces were being used. With the approach of new advances and hypotheses, the new HCI situations has been made and the improvement in the field of the HCI is going on like 2D

High school dropouts: proposal Essay

This exploration tries to respond to the topic of the impact that dropping out of secondary school has on a person’s propensity toward wrongdoing. Studies have indicated that most people who don't have a secondary school confirmation are at a financial burden contrasted with the individuals who have completed secondary school. It has additionally been indicated that numerous detainment facilities have a high grouping of individuals who have not completed secondary school. This investigation will take inquiries to a gathering of detainees at a nearby jail just as a gathering of secondary school understudies in a similar zone. It will utilize surveys that contain things which endeavor to test issues concerning the criminal presentation of detainees during and after secondary school just as that of current secondary school understudies. The outcomes will be dissected and corresponded utilizing diagrams and graphs so as to reveal insight into the impact that the absence of a secondary school certificate has on crime. Presentation Several reasons have been refered to by scientists to disclose why understudies choose to drop out of secondary school. One of these reasons is an absence of sufficient youth readiness (Reynolds et al. , 2001). Kids who get deficient instructive arrangement in the beginning times of their lives regularly think that its hard to get a handle on the ideas being educated at the secondary school levels. These kids may likewise not have had legitimate presentation to the sorts of practices and study propensities essential for accomplishment in secondary school. These, and different issues related with them, regularly lead to a failure to adapt to the requests of the instructive condition (2001). Absence of sufficient monetary help likewise has an impact in making understudies drop out of school (Ingrum, 2006; Reynolds et al., 2001). It is regularly the situation that understudies can't get to the materials vital for accomplishment in school because of absence of assets. Moreover, destitution regularly drives understudies to look for occupations (or even less noteworthy methods for procuring cash) before their secondary school training authoritatively closes. This frequently has additionally to do with an absence of proper passionate and family support, which regularly ebbs when funds are low. Besides, a few guardians of these understudies have barely accomplished secondary school certificates themselves and are in this manner unequipped for helping these youngsters with assignments (Sum et al., 2003). At long last an absence of scholarly bent, which shows through learning incapacities, has been refered to as having a noteworthy part to play in provoking understudies to drop out of school (Ingrum, 2006). Schools are generally obliging to those people of normal insight who have almost no endogenous challenges learning. These understudies frequently discover it especially hard to perform even the basic elements of training, for example, perusing and basic number juggling. Numerous who do drop out are hindered contrasted with their partners who have recognitions. These individuals are bound to be jobless, as businesses for significant and enough paying employments by and large look for secondary school graduates. These people are likewise bound to be underemployed, as it is regularly hard to track down full time places that try to utilize people who have not finished secondary school. In light of these recently referenced impacts, secondary school dropouts are additionally bound to be on government assistance, and it has likewise been shown that these people are bound to be imprisoned (Lochner and Moretti, 2003). Numerous projects exist that inside on the restoration of dropouts in light of the fact that such people are viewed as bound to be urgent. The truth of being underestimated with regards to qualification for sufficiently paying employments frequently drives people toward sentiments of low self-esteem and even toward such outrageous measures as wrongdoing (Lochner and Moretti, 2003). It is regularly the situation that people who fall into this urgent class are the individuals who have mental or physical difficulties and who need the assistance of these projects (Ingrum, 2006). In any case, a huge extent of them are viewed as bound to have passionate/conduct issues, and it is regularly individuals from this gathering of dropouts that appear in jail populaces (Lochner and Moretti, 2003). Such people are viewed as a channel on the legislature for a few reasons, one of which is lost income from charges. People who have no secondary school confirmation are normally ready to order lower wages or pay rates than the individuals who have graduated. This lower wage means a lower part of annual duty payable to the legislature. Moreover, these people are frequently additionally on government assistance, and the expense of these projects to the administration increment with every individual that profits by it. The expense of jail programs is likewise noteworthy to the administration. Since, in this manner, it is viewed as that the jail populace contains a higher convergence of dropouts than everybody (Lochner and Moretti, 2003), it may be seen that secondary school dropouts contribute more on normal to the channel on the legislature because of jail programs than do individuals from everyone. Speculation Absence of instruction as showed by dropping out of secondary school prompts an improved probability of criminal captures in youngsters. Procedure: factors and instrumentation The fundamental instrument that will be utilized in this examination is the survey. This will be regulated to 130 jail detainees from (NAME OF PRISON) in (NAME OF CITY and STATE) and 130 understudies of a secondary school in a similar neighborhood. The poll given to the detainees will comprise of roughly 25-30 things that will manage the degree of secondary school training achieved and captures endured by the prisoner. The members will be given decisions with respect to their tutoring, extending from underneath eighth grade level (< 8) to beneath twelfth grade level (< 12). They will likewise be allowed to show whether secondary school confirmations were gotten when they arrived at 18 years old or following 18 years. The poll will likewise contain things that manage the inmates’ criminal history. Things will endeavor to inspire data concerning the quantity of captures members have encountered. It will likewise recognize number of captures and number of feelings. Members will likewise give data with respect to the quantity of adolescent captures and feelings they have had, just as the length of the sentence(s) which they right now serve as well as have served before. The surveys for the understudies will incorporate things concerning the students’ vocation objectives, good examples, access to schoolwork help, and the trouble of explicit center classes or aptitudes (Mathematics, English, and Reading). They will be approached to give their GPA’s. The understudies will likewise be posed inquiries about those they realize who have dropped out of school. They will be solicited what number of from their companions or associates dropped out in the distinctive gradesâ€ninth to twelfth, and request to rate how much these dropouts’ practices may be viewed as freak. The understudies will likewise be asked whether they at any point considered dropping out of school and whether they figure they would. At long last, they will be posed inquiries concerning their introduction to weapons and individuals who perpetrate wrongdoings. The reactions to the inquiries for the two gatherings will all be introduced on a Likert scale running from â€Å"strongly agree† to â€Å"strongly oppose this idea. † Interviews will likewise be looked for with a few of these detainees. The chance of directing a meeting through the web (texting or voice programs) or by means of telephone will be explored. The inquiries addresses will be progressively open finished, however will incline toward evoking data concerning the inmates’ sees on how they consider their absence of a secondary school recognition to have affected their present circumstance. First, I see terrorism as war and a terrorist in my view is a soldier going to war for certain purpose and reason to destroy. If captured, they should be treated as prisoners of war. No one was ready for the tragic event that took place on April 15, 2013, where two brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlane Tsarneav bought yet another tragedy upon the community when bombs were set off during the Boston Marathon. We will write a custom essay sample on The Boston Bombing or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page The first bombing exploded outside Marathon Sports. Seconds later a second bomb went off near the finish line on Boylston Street near Copley Square killing three, Krystle Marie Campbell, 29, a restaurant manager from Medford, Massachusetts, Lu Lingzi 23, Chinese national and Boston University graduate from Shenyang, Liaoning and Martin William Richard, an eight-year-old boy from the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, and left hundreds of others injured. One of bombs used in the attacks was made in form of a six liter pressure cooker that was placed in a nylon bag with a detonated on a timer instead of a remote. Other explosive devices were made of nails, metal, and BBs. As the evidence grows against Dzhokhar so does the list of individuals involved. Friends, family, officers, authorities, and others who encountered the suspects that had nothing to do with the bombing and were just as shocked by it as everyone else. The best way to describe the security situation about the Boston Bombers is that they slip through the cracks. Even though that is general and weak and vague way of explaining the lapse in security about the two brothers it’s the only way that the law enforcement experts are explaining it. Even though, the Russian secret service gave our Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) some information about the two brothers, for some reason that did not go far enough. The intelligence agencies that were involved seemed to still after all those laws passed after the September 11, attacks. Another reason it seems for the lapse of cohesive agency cooperation is that it is now reported that Tamerlane Tsarnaev was put on a security watch list and later removed and the investigation was closed even though he traveled to Chechnya and was not on the United States radar. The pros and cons will always be weighed when it about security and privacy, there is a fine line. We as a country have a moral responsibility to the victims of any terrorist attack to find them justices and it’s also a legal right. The best part about this country is that you have a lot of freedom form the government that a lot of other countries do not have, the detriment of this country is that some people that are born here in this country and abroad uses these freedoms as an opening to do harm to the American population. For example the brother that survived is Dzhokar is a citizen of this country, which makes his legal rights just as strong as any American in this country, even though a lot of people are calling for his rights to be taken away; he has his rights protected by the constitution. The security overall in this country has done a very good job to protect the citizens of this country it is a very daunting task. The cons of this vast land is that we have a free society with a lot of immigrants moving in and out of the country that in itself is very to control and keep a safe process for all that are involved. The pros of this vast land is that we all communicate with each other, a lot and that will help us to help the government thwart these individuals who are trying to do harm. The best way to attack this problem is to first learn how to cope with the pressures of the new world. The other issue is that we must innovative we must attack the problem with different answers and new technology so that we can make easier to track people with checkered past and find out if they are a threat. We must also take initiative and while we take initiative we must strategize, we must have plans that are flexible to adjust to because this is a free society and they will need to be informed and included. Finally we must apply all the expertise that we can because learning patterns and understanding why certain individuals do what they do is very important not only to law enforcement, but for us as a society as a whole. The bombings proved that anyone with the will power to hurt the general public can actually manifest those ideas into action. The Tsarneav Brothers are a perfect example of what is the most pressing issue facing our judicial system today when it comes to prosecuting someone who has committed a Terrorist act. The problems seems to be that as the Government is gathering information when something as terrible as a terrorist act happens the gathering of information becomes paramount in that same instances the government has the right to treat the suspect or suspects as a United States citizen if they are a citizen or as a military enemy combatants. The treatment of homegrown terrorist suspects once they are captured has been debated by a lot of lawyers and scholars and constitutionalists. The Boston Bombing suspects are a perfect example where you have the brothers one is a resident alien in the United States and the other is an actual United States citizen they are both in different categories as far as rights in the United States. The topic of terrorists whom we need to give their full constitutional rights is something that is a moral dilemma to some but indefensible to others. The dilemma stems from the moral dilemma that should the government go to all lengths to extract information from someone to save others that are in danger, even it is not proven that torture works on terrorists most argue that we should do any and everything to protect the general public. The other side of the problem is that these people are Unites States citizens and the have some unalienable rights because of the constitution. The dilemma that we face is how to protect the nation and protect the rights that has been given to United States since the inception of this country. Terrorism has shaken our beliefs to the core we have to believe in our justice system to process and prosecute these individuals, even though they seem to not deserve the respect and dignity of due process. As was stated in the beginning, the world is constantly changing and evolving, with that said we as the land of free home of the brave must be the country that can do the impossible. We as a country should be able to uphold our constitutional rights as a nation and protect all of our citizens. REFERENCES Hosenball, M. (2013). Effective Communication and Collaboration Among Personality Types and Learning Styles Essay Example

Effective Communication and Collaboration Among Personality Types and Learning Styles Essay Example Effective Communication and Collaboration Among Personality Types and Learning Styles Essay Effective Communication and Collaboration Among Personality Types and Learning Styles Essay Melding of the Minds 1 Melding of the Minds: Effective Communication and Collaboration among Personality Types and Learning Styles Foundations for General Education and Professional Success/GEN200 Melding of the Minds 2 Melding of the Minds: Effective Communication and Collaboration among Personality Types and Learning Styles One of the challenges of working with any team lies in building relationships with the various members of the team, and to form a cohesive unit that communicates and works well together. It can be difficult to convey thoughts and ideas to those with personalities and learning styles different from oneself. However, with a little effort one can put this diversity to good use. Dr. Joyce Bishop, co-author of Keys to College Studying condensed personality styles into four basic groupings; the thinker, giver, organizer, and adventurer. Each individual will have characteristics from all of these groupings but will generally have dominance in a single personality type. This allows those who are aware of personality types to recognize and expand upon common characteristics with those they are working with. For example, the thinker is most comfortable with time to reflect individually on ideas presented, whereas the giver and adventurer enjoy working with groups; however, being familiar with personality styles, the thinker and the adventurer have the common trait of considering problems via non-traditional approaches. The giver will typically be the peace keeper in any group as they dislike conflict, and are good with communicating and negotiating. In addition, the organizer is likely to create flash cards to study by, which the giver can use to capitalize on their traits and teach the organizer. By having a variety of personality styles on a team it keeps balance, and allows various perspectives to be brought to the project. Similar to personality types, every individual has their own way of taking in and retaining information, referred to as a learning style. A learning style can be defined as A set of characteristics which make learning effective for an individual (Seckel, 2007, 22). It may seem that these varied learning styles may clash and create conflict working on a team together; Melding of the Minds 3 however, they can, in fact, complement each other nicely. Verbal learners will benefit from reciting the information they are learning to retain the information, the visual learner can build on this technique by listening to the recitation and putting the information into a word web, or arrangement he or she can use to visualize the details. Adding someone with a logical/mathematical learning style into this group adds another beneficial dimension. Logical learners and the visual learners complement each other with their ability to chart or graph the data or facts they are studying. The logical learner can see relationships between the facts, and the verbal learner can put these logical relationships back into a cohesive written document for presentation. The verbal learner will be able to write clear papers, the visual learner will add a visual appeal to presentations, and the logical learner will order the layout in an organized and clear manner. A well formed team, consisting of i ndividuals with a variety of personality types and learning styles can capitalize on the strengths of each individual, and allow each person to stretch him or herself to improve on weaker traits. By melding a group from these differences, the work product is likely to be more rounded, taking into account various perspectives. It will also produce more concise and interesting presentations. Although conflicts and difficulties may arise among the group, the benefits of multiple perspectives, thoughts, and ideas, greatly outweigh those difficulties. A Frenetic Workday Schedule Article Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

A Frenetic Workday Schedule - Article Example Before 2005, the insomnia category was written off as not growing or changing. The chief drug to combat insomnia was the brand Ambien (it recorded sales of $ 2.2 billion in 2004 {Brandweek Magazine. â€Å"Marketers of the Year 2006: Lunesta’s Tim Healey and Jay Popli†}), that rose to the top after successfully fighting off other ambitious drugs like Sonata, Halcion and Tylenol P.M. The American public was resigned to the dominance of Ambien in the absence of a better alternative in spite of increasing high-profile cases that highlighted the dangerous side effects of Ambien (such as U.S. Rep. Patrick Kenney’s car crash, a lawyer in Buffalo who ‘messily’ raided his own fridge and tore a towel rack off the wall, the crash of the Staten Island Ferry that killed 11 persons, a Texas bus crash resulting in the death of 8 passengers, and several videos of YouTube depicting people drooling and zonked out (The New York Times. â€Å"Record Sales of Sleeping Pi lls Are Causing Worries†). Into this scenario of sleeplessness and uncertainty came Lunesta. Launched in April 2005 by Marlborough Mass.-based firm Sepracor, it swiftly emerged as the hottest sleeping pill in the U.S today. The Lunesta fairytale success story is based on two factors: a measure of good fortune, and a massive ad budget featuring an irresistible ad. Lunesta initially had two strokes of good fortune: its original name and original and was scrapped. The FDA rejected the brand name ‘Estorra’ on the grounds that it sounded too much like ‘Estrace,’ a prevailing hormone-therapy drug.

Chinese tea art from the Tang dynasty until recent times Essay

Chinese tea art from the Tang dynasty until recent times - Essay Example The essay "Chinese tea art from the Tang dynasty until recent times" discovers The development of Chinese tea art from the Tang dynasty until recent times in China or overseas. In China, tea came to be developed in a very funny manner. It started from the initial perception that the forefathers had about tea. Their understanding about tea was very different from the way that it is understood today. This perception originated from the agricultural god who was also known as Shannon. He was the inventor of Chinese medicine. He is also the foundation upon which the five cereals were discovered as well as the variety of herbals that are able to cure a broad range of human diseases. This god was able to do this through the engagement in tasting the varied range of herbal substances in order to master the different characteristics of the herbal medicines. As a result, he was poisoned more than seventy times on every day. However, he was able to be detoxified through the accidental eating of tea leaves. The different ways with which tea was taken were closely related to the way through which it was discovered. Tea leaves were later developed into a famous beverage subsequent to the long application process. This was during the period within which it was used as a food, medicine as well as a sacrificial offering. The Tang Dynasty is a very important period in the history of China due to its function in the expansion of the feudal society in China. This provided social conditions that were excellent for making tea.

Social Problems Facing the Contemporary United States Essay Example for Free

Social Problems Facing the Contemporary United States Essay Homelessness is a social problem in the United States. Homelessness defined according to the National Health Care for The Homeless Council (2011), â€Å"is a person or individual that lacks housing†. Homeless do not have permeant residents. They may live on the streets, shelters, missions and under freeway overpasses. They also occupy facilities of abandoned buildings, vehicles, and campgrounds. They can be found sleeping behind buildings, sitting against a building wall or digging in a trash can for food. Homeless people are human beings without shelter. They often fall victim to infections, frozenness, diseases, and assault. Homelessness does not have prejudices; it is an equal opportunity social issue. It is seen in every major city in the United States. This paper will describe the social problem of homelessness, analyze how it affects the United States and explain one sociological theory to explain a cause of homelessness. Homelessness in the United States is a large problem. It is hard to determine how people in the US are homeless, but they have a profound economic effect on society. There are few support services available for homeless, such as shelters, soup kitchens, which come in the form of taxpayers’ dollars. Homeless do not have cars or control over their daily lives. They depend on the daily grind of shelters, soup kitchens, and minimal jobs to meet their basic survival needs and are socially abandoned. The homeless lack medical health insurance. Hospital emergency departments are used as a community resource for the homeless, regardless of their ability to pay. So the expense falls on the taxpayer. Surprisingly, about one-third of emergency room visits are by homeless people. The needs of the homeless are vast. They typically have chronic medical conditions, multiple psychosocial risk factors, like substance use disorders and mental disease.  Their social support system is nonexistent. Most, emergency departments are not set up to meet the psychosocial needs of the homeless (Additional Medical Concerns, 2015). In addition, homelessness can advance to other social concerns like the illegal sex trade and crimes. With essentially no home and no money to purchase food, homeless people re sort to becoming prostitutes or engaging in criminal activities to get money for food or shelters. Some homeless become beggars. Food will commonly be the greatest importance. Individual states are affected by the amount of homeless people they have. Read more:  Essay on Social Issues Some states, like New Orleans, report decreased revenue from tourists who do not want to visit. Most people consider places with high homeless dirty and unsafe. New Orleans, is one example of how homelessness gives the area a bad reputation and results in decreased revenue from tourists. Our government spends millions of dollars on the homeless. The active assistance the government provides is seen with rental assistance, food stamps, and welfare. This support although positive still affects the taxpayers. On the negative side, many homeless are picked up for loitering, sleeping in cars and begging resulting in millions of dollars spent on law enforcement like prisons and jails. There are many sociological theories that relate to homelessness. One theory is conflict theory. Since its beginning, the conflict theory has been used to define certain groups including the homeless population across the United States. The conflict theory provides a perfect mapping as to how people have become homeless due to a single life event, causing them to adapt to the situation. People change to the homeless lifestyle instead of taking steps to return to traditional society. (Calhoun, 2002). The behaviorism of a homeless individual begins to change as they start to work to survive. Shortly after this survival mode the homeless person accepts the battle of being homeless as a societal norm and believes himself to be a regular part of that society. The conflict theorists look at the society from an impartial view. This viewpoint looks at individuals and sees them as inferior to society. The groundwork of societal structure is power or enticement and the only way to advance within the societal structure is through a power struggle. In this power struggle, there is much competition. Social class is intensely valuable in this mindset for it characterizes your place in the monument of authority. Wealth and assets are limed significantly in society, and people  are constantly in competition for these goods and prosperity. Conflict theorists approach the issue of homelessness just like an emperor approaches his subordinates. They see the homeless as people that are too fragile and unable to rise up the societal ranking. They see the homeless as individuals unable to reach the goal of greater social status. Conflict theorists identify themselves as the emperors of mankind and consider the homeless as insignificant people because they are unable to do anything. Essentially the conflict theorists see themselves as the ones with all the skill. They are masters in political, economic and social assets. The homeless are dominated by the higher social class. (Calhoun, 2002). Homelessness in the United States continues to be a social problem. Thousands of people still meet the characterization of homeless. It is a social issue that has existed for years. It does not have prejudices; it is an equal opportunity social issue. It is seen in every major city in the United States. Homeless are the abandoned people. Civil War Reconstruction

America between 1865 and 1876 was very broken and disunited due to the obvious Civil War. There was much effort put in my various powers to put together America again and attain the unity preferably desired by the central governing body. Both the Congress and the Citizenry participated to remedy the discretely disunited states. President Johnson, who took office right after Lincoln against the radical republicans to piece together America, is a perfect example of Congressional effort put into the problem. As for the citizenry putting in effort, the Freedmen’s Bureau and sharecropping both showed a different paradigm of the problem on a level in which the average citizens could assist in unifying America again. Through examples we will soon see exactly how the two entities combined forces of the government and the people to fight for a common goal. After the conclusion of the Civil War with the defeat of the Confederate states, an organization by the name of Freedman’s Bureau was composed to give abandoned or confiscated land to freed African Americans to live on. This land was given to them in the form of grants that were approximately 40 acres, give or take, to live on for three years. After these 3 years, they would be able to purchase the land at a very low price. This organization helped put America together again because it shows the co-op method in which the Congress set up an establishment to give freedom to the black and then the people were readily agreeing to it, not rebelling. This also changed the Citizenry’s view of slaves in a certain way. As the Dread Scott case mentioned that slaved were not people they were property, well, now they were able to purchase land. This meant that since property can not own property and only another person can own property, that people must soon see slaves as reasonably people and not property. Although not revolutionary since segregation was very common amongst both North and South states, there was still a new perspective offered to people to accept slaves as people themselves. This would soon help bring the South and North closer as they would begin to begin in soon the same ideology towards people of different colors and cultures. Another factor important in tying together America was sharecropping, which however was not as good. Sharecropping meant that a squad or family could work independently for a fixed share of crop, around ?. The positive side to this was the fact that there was no expenditure in advance of harvest. The tenant had to share the risks of crop failure or a fall in cotton prices. Blacks believed this to be helpful to them, and since it was the Citizenry who decided upon doing this, we can see that the not only the government, but all the way down to the individual person we can see that citizens would put forth effort to cooperate with the new system of social life considering slavery was no longer an option. Although in the 1870s it became a servitude type instance in which croppers lived on credit until the cotton was sold. This was en route back to a modified adaptation of slavery in this time period. However until then, it was a vital key to show the vast effort put into the bringing together of America. The president also played a vital role in the bringing together of America. President Johnson wanted to reprieve the formerly Confederate states. He believed in organizing a new government and electing new representatives for states. This was contrary to the bringing together of America. Thus his opponent, the Radical Republicans came into action. Their plan was to fully represent the southern states’ government and also used military force to do so. They also passed the Civil Rights Acts to give slaves full rights. They wanted to grant suffrage to freedmen. This political party of republicans showed that the president was overpowered and thus could not disagree otherwise as the republicans fully gained the support of the people in their cause. Because of their success in this, they were able to put together America by the use of military force, which almost always does the job as we can see the Civil War settling any social issues about slavery. The fact that people began to not only include slaves as people, but to give them rights as well was a leap for American men, especially in the South. This was all part of the effort for unity. So as we can see from the efforts of the Radical Republicans and the Freedmen’s Bureau, there is much cooperation between the Citizenry and the Congress in the unity of America pose-Civil War.
